- Advocate for the needs and concerns of LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff within the university
- Work with university leadership to develop and implement policies and practices that promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ individuals
- Collaborate with other council members to develop and implement initiatives to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion and visibility within the university
- Assess the university’s current policies, practices, and culture to identify areas for improvement in promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion and equity
- Recommend changes to policies and practices to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion and equity
- Develop and implement outreach and engagement activities to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion and support LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff
- Serve as a liaison between the LGBTQ+ council and other relevant groups or departments within the university
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion and recommend improvements as needed
- Stay up-to-date with developments in LGBTQ+ issues and apply this knowledge to the council’s work
- Promote a positive and inclusive culture within the university community, particularly for LGBTQ+ individuals
- Encourage and mentor LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff to engage in activities that promote LGBTQ+ inclusion and equity
