Member, Nursing Faculty Committee
- Develop and revise curriculum for nursing programs
- Evaluate and assess student learning outcomes
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for nursing programs
- Participate in peer evaluation of nursing faculty
- Facilitate communication between nursing faculty, students, and other departments
- Review and recommend changes to admission, retention, appeals criteria
- Identify and implement best practices in nursing education

Member, Nursing Assessment & Accreditation Committee
- Participate in program assessment activities
- Participate in evaluation of policies and procedures for nursing program accreditation and assessment
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies’ standards and guidelines
- Monitor and evaluate the nursing program’s assessment and evaluation processes
- Review and analyze student learning outcomes and program evaluation data
- Identify areas of strength and weakness in the nursing program and recommend improvements
- Conduct regular reviews and updates to the nursing program’s curriculum and instructional design
- Collaborate with nursing faculty and leadership to develop and implement assessment plans and strategies
- Provide support to colleagues and accreditors during accreditation visits
- Provide guidance and support to nursing faculty on assessment and accreditation-related issues
- Ensure the nursing program’s compliance with institutional policies and procedures
- Stay up-to-date with developments in nursing education accreditation and assessment
- Participate in strategic planning and program evaluation activities
Editor-in-Chief, CUNY SPS Nursing Pulse newsletter
- Develop the content of the nursing department newsletter, CUNY SPS Nursing Pulse
- Collect and compile articles, news, and updates from nursing faculty, students, and staff
- Edit and proofread articles for grammar, spelling, and content accuracy
- In collaboration with Marketing, ensure that the newsletter is visually appealing and easy to read
- Collaborate with the nursing department leadership to ensure that the newsletter reflects the department’s goals and objectives
- Set deadlines for submissions and work with contributors to ensure timely delivery of articles
- In collaboration with Marketing, manage the distribution of the newsletter to nursing faculty, students, and staff
- Solicit feedback and suggestions from readers to improve the newsletter’s content and design
- Maintain a database of past issues and articles for reference and archiving purposes
- Stay up-to-date with nursing education news and trends to ensure the newsletter provides relevant and timely information
- Promote the newsletter to the nursing department’s wider community, such as alumni and external stakeholders
- Encourage and mentor nursing faculty, students, and staff to contribute to the newsletter
Chair, Nursing Appeals Committee
- Preside over the appeals committee meetings
- Ensure the appeals process is fair, transparent and follows established policies and procedures
- Provide guidance and clarification to the committee members on the appeals process
- Maintain accurate records of the appeals process and decisions made
- Communicate the committee’s decision to the appellant and relevant stakeholders
- Ensure confidentiality of the appeals process and information
- Work collaboratively with the nursing department leadership and other relevant parties
- Ensure the appeals committee operates in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements
- Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the appeals process and recommend improvements as needed
- Facilitate communication between the appellant, the appeals committee, and the nursing department leadership
- Resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise during the appeals process
- Ensure that the appeals process is completed in a timely manner
Faculty Advisor, CUNY SPS Student Nurses Association
- Provide guidance and support to the student nurses association (SNA) officers and members
- Assist the SNA in developing and achieving its goals and objectives
- Facilitate communication between the SNA and nursing department leadership
- Attend and participate in SNA meetings and events
- Promote the SNA and its activities to nursing students
- Advise the SNA on event planning, budgeting, and fundraising
- Encourage student participation in SNA activities and events
- Serve as a liaison between the SNA and other relevant organizations or associations (including collaboration with Nursing mentoring program)
- Provide mentorship and leadership development opportunities to SNA officers and members
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the SNA and recommend improvements as needed
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures
- Advocate for the SNA and nursing students within the institution and the community
